Radiccio 1.0.3: Apple Music and Tahoe
Tuesday, November 4, 2025
This update improves the Apple Music experience when running Radiccio on macOS 26 Tahoe, and fixes performance issues on macOS 26.1.
Restored missing functionality for Apple Music on Tahoe
Since launch, Radiccio has been compatible with both macOS 15 Sequoia and macOS 26 Tahoe. However, prior to launch, we discovered that Tahoe introduced a serious new bug in MusicKit (the Apple-provided API that we use to access Apple Music). As a result, we unfortunately had to remove a significant amount of Apple Music functionality when running on Tahoe. When running on Sequoia, Radiccio was unaffected by this.
Now that macOS 26.1 has been released, we are pleased to report that Apple has fixed the MusicKit bug at issue in this case, and we are now able to offer the same Apple Music experience on both Sequoia and Tahoe.
The following functionality has been restored to Apple Music sources, as of Radiccio 1.0.3 and macOS 26.1:
- Playing individual songs
- Adding individual songs to the queue
- Adding multiple albums to the queue
- Playing or queueing multiple albums from an artist
- The Songs tab
Please note that you must update both Radiccio and macOS Tahoe to the current versions in order to see these improvements.
As before, users who continue to run macOS 15 Sequoia are unaffected. Functionality is now the same on both operating systems, so you are not missing anything by staying on Sequoia.
You may wish to review our updated user guide page about features to learn which Radiccio features are available with Apple Music, compared to our other source types.
New features
- A new setting lets you choose whether you want to see the “Replace queue?” confirmation popovers. It is on by default, the same as the previous behavior. Now you can turn it off, if you wish. (By customer request)
Improvements
- We have continued to work to improve the VoiceOver experience when using Radiccio. VoiceOver remains an important priority for us. If you have any feedback or encounter any difficulties when using VoiceOver with Radiccio, please email us: support@radiccio.music
Fixes
- Fixed a severe performance regression introduced in macOS 26.1, which could cause scrolling to be very slow and the UI to stop updating entirely. This was fixed by removing the animation from the playback indicator icon in the middle browser pane (only for 26.1 and later). The animation is also disabled when “reduce motion” is enabled in System Settings > Accessibility.
- Fixed an issue where navigation buttons (back/forward) might sometimes not be enabled or disabled correctly.
Note: Updates may not appear immediately due to App Store caching.
